“There are three ways to master death.
Her is the third one (the one

Anna Xenia told me

on the way home from Orvieto).
Signorelli is painting late in his studio
when they carry in his son,

killed in a riot.
He sits up all night with the body,
making sketch after sketch

and throwing them into a pile.
From that time
all his angels

have the one
same
face.”

“I burn for you”

Posted in citater, zibaldone by stensamler on 17. maj 2009

Now that I have found you
In the coolth of your evening smile
The shade of your parasol
And your love flows through me
Though I drink at your pool
I burn for you, I burn for

You and I are lovers
When night time folds around our bed
In peace we sleep entwined
And your love flows through me
Though an ocean soothes my head
I burn for you, I burn for

Stars will fall from dark skies
As ancient rocks are turning
Quiet fills the room
And your love flows through me
Though I lie here so still
I burn for you, I burn for you

I burn…

twitter og fugls føde

Posted in citater by stensamler on 7. maj 2009

Interview med RuthReichl:

“Twitter is a sort of public diary; figurative scraps of paper. Are you enjoying it?

Enormously. As I wrote in my first book, privacy is overrated. My mother’s scraps of paper were shouts into the void, and I think she would have been much happier if she could have sent them into the world instead of sticking them in a box. We all want, very much, to be seen and understood.

In another recent Twitter post, you wrote, “Ever have one of those dinner parties that goes wrong, wrong, wrong? That was last night. Discussion ended in shouts, tears, slammed door.” I’d imagine that readers would be relieved to know that even your dinners can’t all turn out perfectly. Is this a reason that you tweet?

The heated argument at that dinner party was actually about child pornography and free speech. It’s proof that even great food can’t keep people from shouting at each other. And you’re right—the reason to tweet about it is precisely because it is so reassuring to be reminded that we all make mistakes, we survive them and the differences between us are very minor.”

skønhed

Posted in citater by stensamler on 2. maj 2009

»Den helt naturlige glæde ved skønhed, som ligger dybt i mennesker, blev ikke bare standset, men man skulle skamme sig over den,« siger han. »Som om der var et modsætningsforhold mellem det skønne og det sande.« Peter Ravn

God’s List Of Liquids

Posted in citater by stensamler on 30. april 2009

“It was a November night of wind.
Leaves tore past the window.
God had the book of life open at PLEASURE

and was holding the pages down with one hand
because of the wind from the door.
For I made their flesh as a sieve

wrote God at the top of the page
and then listed in order:
Alcohol
Blood
Gratitude
Memory
Semen
Song
Tears
Time.”

8210 – Digte over Frydenlund

Posted in citater, sten by stensamler on 28. april 2009

“Vi havde et hus i Mogadishu
før krigen kom.
Det voksede over os
og nåede himlen
før vi kunne tage af sted.

Mit hus i 8210
er bygget af sten.
Det vokser ikke.”
